On Sunday, March 26, St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (located @ 4882 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084 – same location as the Tree Lot) will be hosting Rise Against Hunger (RAH) in their fellowship hall (Heffner Hall). The goal is to make 10,000 meals, so they need lots of help. All Scouts and family members are encouraged to attend!
- Date of Event: March 26, 2023
- Set-up Time: 1:30 pm – Patrece Keeter will be there at 1:30 pm to accept Scouts
- Start Food Assembly Time: 3:00 pm – preparation activity will normally run approximately 1.5 hours [+/-]
- Cleanup Time: 4:30 pm – cleanup will normally run approximately 1 hour [+/-]
The Scouts (and any others) are welcome to participate in meal preparation, set-up, and cleanup.
Setup involves helping unpack the RAH truck, moving supplies into the Fellowship Hall, setting up tables/work equipment, and setting out ingredients at each of the work tables.
Meal prep involves 6 person teams, at a table, filling plastic bags with ingredients. There are other stations weighing/sealing the bags, packing the sealed boxes in the cardboard shipping boxes, and a support team helping refill ingredient equipment at the tables.
Cleanup involves packing meal prep equipment, packing the the truck, putting up the tables, light cleanup of any spilled ingredients.
For those participating, you will also need to complete the waiver below.
If the volunteer is a minor (Scouts/siblings), the parent or legal guardian agrees that this Release and Waiver will be binding upon the minor. Completing this registration does prove that you are consenting to the waiver and release of certain legal rights as set forth in this release and waiver of liability agreement.
