This year, Camporee which will be held at the end of March, and our very own Elliot Paisner is District Chairman for the event! The theme will be “Back to Brownsea” and will focus on traditional Lord Baden Powell scouting skills and games. The goal of the camp is to allow younger and lower-ranking Scouts to earn some much-needed advancement and more advanced Scouts to earn camping nights and leadership opportunities.
We register as a troop, so we need to know who wants to go as early as possible. It should be a fun weekend, and of course there is the Golden Axe competition for which the troop has already starting preparing. If any of our older Scouts would like to volunteer to help run the Model Campsite event hosted by Troop 129, please contact Elliot Paisner or Jim Towhey.
If you’d like to attend (as a volunteer or a regular participant), please sign up. The deadline for the troop to register with the council is March 15th, so the sooner we can get a headcount, the better.
