The Atlanta Area Council is leading a climbing adventure for Troop 129 to the well-known and popular climbing destination in the Pigeon Mountain WMA – Rocktown. Rocktown has several top rope and lead climbing routes but is mostly known for their vast bouldering options. Literally a small
town made up of 10-40’ tall rock clusters with multitudes of routes.
The climbing adventure will take place on Saturday, September 14. We’ll probably meet with the instructors around 8:30 – 9 am, but that information will be updated later.
Camping will most likely be at Sawmill Lake Campsite, about 2.5-3 hours from Tucker in NW GA. There is not a lot of space at this camping area, so participants should treat the camping as a backpacking trip (i.e. – pack light).
