We previously announced the Troop would have a “service patrol” during the Taste of Tucker this Saturday, October 2 via the announcement [here]. Scouts can still sign-up for this event and earn service hours!
There are few other October service opportunities to share with everyone. First, we wanted to let everyone know that there is an Eagle Project workday this Saturday morning (October 2) at the Scout Hut. The workday starts at 9 am, and everyone is welcome to stop by and lend a hand to Sam Penkava. He will be assembling the main component of his project, and there will be jobs available for both young and old Scouts.
Second, Mrs. Kristi Bluett is looking for 3-6 volunteers to lead the pledge during the Tuesday, October 12 City of Tucker Council Meeting. This would take around 30 minutes, and Scouts would need to arrive 6:45 pm in FULL CLASS A UNIFORM. They will be done in time for the Troop meeting at 7:30 pm and will get 1 service hour. Contact Mrs. Bluett (details in the latest Troop email) if you are interested; please do not just show up.
Last but not least, the City of Tucker Parks and Recreations will have a Haunted Trail at Henderson Park on Friday, October 29. They are looking for volunteers…including Trail Monsters! Since this is not being organized by the Troop, anyone interested would need to use the sign-up genius linked below. Scouts will earn service hours for participating.
