Our October campout (October 11 – 13) will be at Camp Rotary. Since we will be on Lake Hartwell, this camping trip will focus on canoeing. Hopefully some of our newly minted, expert canoers from Northern Tier will come show us how it is done!
Folks should arrive on Friday night (dinner on your own) and the group will spend Saturday on the lake. In addition to canoeing, Scouts are welcome to bring their fishing gear. If a Scout wishes to work on a specific merit badge or rank requirement during this trip, please have them speak with Ms. Brandie Bedard by October 8.
For a conservation project, the camp ranger has asked for our Troop’s assistance in cleaning up the grounds from the recent hurricane. We will spend some time doing that on Saturday morning, but this will provide some coveted conservation hours for our Scouts. Please bring your Scout handbooks so the ranger can signoff on this service.
Camp Rotary is located at 52 Rotary Boyscout Dr, Hartwell, GA 30643 and the drive is around two hours from the Hut. The GPS coordinates areĀ 34.45554843259917, -82.8726390592642. We are in campsites #10 and #11.
The camping fee is $23 per person, which includes the canoe rental. If you are not planning on canoeing, the camping fee is $20. There is an additional cost of $15 per person for food.
The deadline to sign up is now October 4 and payment is due October 8. You can sign-up for this campout using the link below.
